Guest Speakers

Does your University department or program need staff input on issues or ideas?  Do you want to increase staff participation in upcoming events?  Do you need help getting information to staff?  ERAC meets the second Wednesday of each month from September-June.  Feel free to contact Bob Bruneio or Angela Scott to be added to future meeting agendas.


ERAC invites the experts from Offices around Campus to share their knowledge
and bring everyone up-to-date on the exciting things happening around the campus community.

March 2016 ERAC Meeting
Guest Speaker:  Katharine Targett - Sustainability Program Manager
The Office of Sustainability was created to centralize sustainability initiatives and reduce Lehigh's environmental footprint.  Katharine talked about the current RecycleMania Competition which is a friendly competition and benchmarking tool for college and university recycling programs to promote waste reduction activities to their campus communities.  Held over an 8-week period each spring.  She also informed the group about several streams of recycling on campus:  e-waste, single stream reycling, trash, batteries, and ink cartridges.  To find out more about this office, click here.

Guest Speaker:  Judy Zavalydriga - Director Employee Relations and Workplace Learning & Performance
Judy introduced the new Performance Management Plan that will eventually replace the current GPS program.  The new program will allow for establishing goals in real time, how they will be accomplished, and will allow for quarterly meetings with your supervisor.  A few departments have already volunteered to pilot the new program.

Guest Speaker:  Toni Lee Feebo - Director Human Resources Services
Toni Lee informed the ERAC committee that Human Resources will be submitting benefit recommendations for 2017 to Senior Officers at the end of April.  In order to do so, Human Resources will be meeting with Mercer along with several faculty committee's to discuss these recommendations in early April.  She is asking for two representatives from ERAC to also attend this meeting.

November 2015 ERAC Meeting:
Guest Speaker Rich Haas, Director of Sales & Marketing in Athletics updated the committee on current staff and faculty benefits on behalf of the Athletic Department.  They include free admission to most events by just showing your Lehigh University ID; however, Lehigh/Lafayette games are not included in free admission.  Wrestling matches there is a Staff/Faculty reserved seating section; Basketball and Football there are designated spaces.  Rich also talked about the Mountain Hawk Rewards program which is a downloadable APP.  Spirit week events include the Turkey Trot, Bed Races, "Eco Flame" and more to come.  Additional information, i.e., Pep Rally, Tailgating, Broadcasting of Events, can all be found directly on the Athletic Department Website.  Thank you Rich!

Guest Speakers from Admissions, Krista Evans and John Morganelli gave an overview of their role in the admissions area and how Lehigh University faculty and staff children apply to Lehigh.  We learned about application review, deadlines and application method, early decision process, and admission rates.  More information can be found on the Admissions Website.  Thank you Krista and John!

May 2015 ERAC Meeting:
Guest Speakers Bill Dewalt, Assistant General Counsel, and Heather Hosfeld, Deputy General Counsel discussed Lehigh's response to ACT 153 and the new Policy on Minors.

Guest Speaker Carolina Hernandez, Director Community Service shared information about the annual Move Out Collection and the June 6th Great Southside Sale.  ERAC members were asked to spread the word about volunteer opportunities needed for both events.

March 2015 ERAC Meeting:
ERAC welcomed Chris Halladay, Associate Vice President of Human Resoures.  Chris discussed ways Human Resources and ERAC could partner on future programming.
