Personal and Professional Workshops: 16 sessions to choose from / 4 concurrent sessions each hour

Session 1

Session Topic:  Understanding the EAP - This presentation will cover the EAP/WorkLife benefits accompanied with a website demonstration.

Colin Foley, Manager - Identity and Access Management
Session Topic:  Information Security - Hear about the steps Lehigh University is taking to provide a more secure computing environment as well as learn practical tips to protect your own personal information.  Topics will include data breaches, phishing, password management, and identity theft.

Mary Frances Schurtz Leon, Candidate and Residence Life Manager - International Affairs, Iacocca Institute
Session Topic:  Leadership is for the Birds - Identifying and leveraging different communication styles to build more effective collaborative teams.

Elena Reiss, Language Specialist - International Center for Academic & Professional English
Session Topic:  "Not Lost in Translation:  A Guide to Intercultural Interactions" - This workshop will invite participants to discover reasons behind intercultural miscommunications and discuss best practices for helping international students overcome communication challenges while encouraging successful interactions.  The participants will analyze strategies for approaching awkward situations and promoting culturally appropriate interactions.  We will explore verbal strategies that can be suggested to international students in order to encourage positive intercultural representation.

Session Topic:  Rethinking Stress:  Transforming the Stress of Daily Hassles, Adversity and Job Burnout into Health and High Performance.

Ilena Key, Assistant Director - COE Support Team and Instructional Technology Consulting and Peggy Kane, Manager DE Web Services and Instructional Technology Consultant
Session Topic:  Video Conferences for Collaboration:  Zoom - The LTS Instructional Technology Team will introduce tools for video conferencing both within campus as well as external participants.

Frank Roth, General Counsel, Heather Hosfeld, Deputy General Counsel, and Marta Sanon, Assistant General Counsel - Office of the General Counsel
Session Topic:  Three Important Legal Issues for Staff

Gina Sierzega, Senior Research Program Development Officer - College of Education
Session Topic:  Grant Writing - What is a grant?  How can Staff use it?  Where to look?  Resources?

Session 3

Session Topic:  Online Surveys with Qualtrics - Come learn how to design survey questions as well as collect and analyze survey responses using Qualtrics, a powerful online survey software platform to which all University faculty, staff, and students have access.

Lori Claudio, Compensation and Talent Acquisition Manager - Human Resources
Session Topic:  Salary Administration - This presentation will help you navigate the University's salary system, salary questions, staff compensation program as well as changing job responsibilities.

Session Topic:  Tuition benefits for those seeking degrees here at Lehigh, as well as, LVAIC tuition exchange educational benefits through LVAIC institutions.

Session 4

Stacey Kimmel-Smith, Assistant Director - General Topics/Help Desk
Session Topic:  Google Mail and Calendar Tips - LTS staff will provide an overview of the productivity features built-in to Google Mail and Google Calendar.  Participants are encouraged to come with specific questoins to encourage group discussion.

Karen Kuczynski, Director of Career & Professional Development
Session Topic:  Identifying Personal Brand - To develop a personal brand you need to evaluate your unique skills, strengths and talents as well as determine who you want to serve, and recognize your uique niche.  This session will help you:  1) Identify your unique personal values; 2) Develop a personal goal and who you want to serve; and 3) How to position your brand in your target market.

Session Topic:  Interviewing/Story Telling - This session will incorporate the use of the STAR method into interview responses to tell stories.
